State Sen. John B. Crane has been dedicated to representing the residents of central Indiana since 2016. In his role as a state senator, Crane serves the constituents of Senate District 24, encompassing portions of Hendricks and Putnam counties.

Within the Senate, Crane holds the position of ranking member of the Senate Committee on Education and Career Development. Additionally, he contributes his expertise as a member of various other Senate Committees, including Elections; Family and Children Services; Homeland Security and Transportation; Pensions and Labor; and Veterans Affairs and The Military.

Professionally, Crane is the founder and CEO of Sagamore Leadership Initiative, Inc., an organization focused on providing leadership training programs for the next generation, emphasizing character development and social impact. His educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in history and psychology from Taylor University and a master’s degree in communications and culture from Trinity International University.

Beyond the Statehouse, Crane actively engages in civic and community initiatives. Notably, he is involved with Sheltering Wings and has served as the program director for the Hoosier Leadership Series, an educational program aimed at informing Indiana leaders about policy and culture.

Crane and his wife, Jean, are dedicated members of Connection Pointe Christian Church. They reside in Avon, where they are actively raising their four children.
